AMY: (narrating) I'm Amy Mizuno. Born on September 10th, a Virgo. Blood type: A. I live in a penthouse in Crossroads with my Mom. I go to school 40 minutes early everyday to read. I read and play chess. My color is baby blue. I like to eat sandwiches. Because you can eat them while you're reading of course! Favorite sport: swimming. Favorite subject: math. I hate...
[Amy opens her locker to find an envelope with a heart on it. It says 'Dear Amy'. She picks it up to look more closely at it.]
AMY: Hmmm?! *blush* Hm...?
[A rash covers her face.]
AMY: (narrating) ...love letters.
[Amy drops the letter.]
AMY: Owww!! My face itches!!
[Later that same day, Bunny sees Amy.]
BUNNY: Amy?! What happened to your face?!
AMY: I got hives this morning. It's probably stress.
AMY: (narrating) It's not like I get them all the time (actually this is my third one.) I have this reaction.... First of all I think, I get embarrassed....
AMY: Thank you. I'm flattered.
AMY: (narrating) Second of all I'm in disbelief that I would receive a love letter... Third, I guess it's denial.... In my opinion.... The only thing to be passionate about right now is... Only one thing... Studying! "Dating" is not in my dictionary!
AMY: Aghh!!
RAYE: What now, Amy?
BUNNY: Now what?
LITA: You're so tense today, Amy!
[Amy is reading a magazine.]
AMY: It's that name again!
[She shows the others the page that she was looking at.]
AMY: I always see this person's name on the practice exam rankings with the same score as me!
[The page says:

1. Mercury - 500
2. Mr. Boo - 497
3. Hanako - 493]
BUNNY: Mercury. Mercurious. What's that name?
AMY: They're pen names. You can register for the exam with any name you want.
BUNNY: So Mercury is your pen name?
AMY: Uh-huh. (thinking) This Mercurious person's been appearing in all the national practice exams. Mercurious is maintaining a perfect score and the top ranking.
[Bunny looks through the magazine.]
BUNNY: Wow!
LITA: Let me see!
[Lita also looks at the magazine.]
LITA: Top Rank.... Mercury, total score 500. 500?! A perfect score again!!
RAYE: Don't you get sick of that score?
AMY: I guess it lacks variety...
LITA: Studying is good, but breaks are just as important. We're going shopping tomorrow. Wanna come, Amy?
AMY: I'm sorry. I'm taking another practice exam.
[Amy holds up a book entitled "Amy's exam schedule."]
?: The invincible test-taker, Amy! She'll choose exams over friends.
LITA: I knew she'd refuse...
AMY: (narrating) I have a good reason why I want to take this practice exam.
[Later on, Amy looks at a book.]
AMY: (narrating) Ahh!
AMY: It's because of this person...

AMY: (narrating) It's that person again!! Same score, same ranking! Mercurious: That's "Mercury" in Latin. I only know that he or she is from Tokyo.
AMY: (thinking) Who is it? Who is it? Who is it? (aloud) The Enemy?
[Amy sees a poster for the National Practice Exams.]
AMY: (thinking) Another practice exam and a new study course's poster.... Hmm....
[Amy puts her glasses on.]
AMY: (thinking) I bet "Mercurious" will be taking this exam. I have to take it too! *sigh* He (or She) must be attending prep class too. I might have already met Mercurious at exam locations or at prep class. Maybe if I take all the practice exams and go to some prep classes I'll meet Mercurious. (aloud) Now I'm pumped. Having a rival is great! All right! I'll take all the exams and courses! I better register...
[Amy is sitting in the park, reading.]
RAYE: Amy seems worn out these days.
MINA: Well, duh! Not only is she taking all these courses but she's taking exams every Sunday.
[Amy's IQ: 300]
BUNNY: Whaaat?! But why??
MINA: It costs money, too.
LITA: It's all right. Amy's mom is a doctor.
[All the girls pause.]
?: It's that Mercurious!
[A few days later....]
AMY: Ahhh!
[She's looking at a paper showing her tied for first place with a 500 with Mercurious in another exam.]
AMY: The same score and ranking, again?! This is impossible!! It's got to be the Enemy!
RAYE & LITA: thinking) Both of you keep getting perfect scores!
MINA & BUNNY: It's impossible...
AMY: This person must be so smart to keep it up like this. I wonder what he's like...
RAYE: Just like you Amy...
MINA: Ay... It's like you're in love...
AMY: He (or she) is only my arch rival! How impudent!!
BUNNY: Well I guess you don't know it Mercurious is a he or she yet, huh? Hee hee
MINA: Hee hee... So what's your ideal man like? Name a star.
AMY: My ideal man... Hmm... Maybe Einstein, father of theory of relativity.
BUNNY: Who's that?
RAYE: *rolls her eyes*
MINA: That's it.
[At the Crown Fruits Parlor, Bunny, Lita, Raye, and Mina sit around a table.]
?: Amy's acting like she's hooked -- I've never seen her like this!
?: Me either!
LITA: Her cheeks, flushed, and her eyes sparkled...
BUNNY: (thinking) Such a crazy "out there" Amy... Could this actually be Amy's "first love?"
MINA: To help Amy find her true love, I'd give her the shirt off my back!
LITA: She doesn't want it...
MINA: We're going to find out who Mercurious is!! If we let this go on, Amy's grades will suffer!
RAYE: I think it'll distract her even more if she finds out what we're doing.
BUNNY: How can we find out?
MINA: I know! Amy uses the Internet. I'm sure Mercurious does too. We can find the username "Mercurious." Then we trace it back to his phone!
[Total silence reigns as the girls sip their drinks.]
MINA: Only Amy could possibly do that!!
[Mina is not that much of a techie, while Bunny and Lita are non-techies.]
*RING-A-LING*
[Bunny walks through the hallway at school.]
BUNNY: But I wanna know what Mercurious is like too. After all, he's Amy's first love. He may be super cool.
MOLLY: Bunny! Wanna go to the library today? Melvin's gonna help us study.
BUNNY: (thinking) Melvin!! I forgot about him, but he's exactly who we need right now!
[Bunny grabs Melvin's shirt collar.]
BUNNY: Melvin! Have you heard of someone with the pen name "Mercurious"?
MELVIN: Huh? Yeah, sure. He's my friend. You wanna meet him? No problem.
MOLLY: (thinking) Choking works...
[Amy arrives at the exam site.]
AMY: Here's the prep school that issued that poster. The building looks so old... It's OK! Any place is fine! I'm happy I have another place of learning in this battle against Mercurious!
[The classroom inside is practically empty.]
TEACHER: Please apply for the national practice exam.
[Later, Amy wakes up, her head lying on the desk.]
*RING-A-LING*
AMY: *gasp* Oh my gosh! What's with you, Amy?! I'm dizzy. Am I getting sick? Hmph. I got to conscious of Mercurious. I studied too hard, and messed up my rhythm! Good strategy, Mercurious! But I'm not satisfied just competing with you... I don't even know your real name. This is the same frustration I have when I can't solve a formula... N=R. fpnefl fifcL. N= The number of civilizations on the Milky Way... I want to know the answer! *sniff*
[As she leaves the school, another student fills out an application, writing the name 'Mercurious' on the top.]
[Inside the school, a pool of gas forms into a figure.]
D. ZIRE: I am the spirit "D. Zire." In all the several hundreds of years I've been here at this school... I have only seen studious students. But what is this worldly desire that I sense?! To even refer to it is shameful in this holy land... You're out of control!
[D. Zire sees Amy leaving the school.]
D. ZIRE: Ahh! Indeed a girl in love! Her mind filled with only him!
AMY: *in a daze* Mercurious..., Mercurious...
[Melvin approaches the school with Bunny, Lita, Mina, and Raye following.]
MELVIN: This is the prep school he goes to. Hey! Mercurious!
[A boy turns around.]
MERCURIOUS: Yo! What's up, Dr. M?!
[The girls stare at the boy.]
[The next day Amy walks to school reading a book.]
AMY: (thinking) Last night, was so sick, I couldn't finish my "to do" list. I'll get it done in class. *mumble* *in a daze* *gasp* That's blasphemy to my school! Wait... How do you spell "blasphemy"? *in a daze* BLES? BLAS? Ahh! I'm about to pass out. I can't see... Come on be strong! I can't drop my grades! Mercurious is waiting for me!
[Amy collapses on the ground.]
BUNNY: Oh my god!! Amy!
[Amy lies on a bed in the nurse's office.]
BUNNY: Amy... Too much studying.
LITA: She's fallen love-sick! Amy!
NURSE: It's just a cold. She needs some rest!
[The nurse and the two girls leave. The nurse tapes a note to the sign above the door.]
SIGN: I'll be back in 10 minutes.
AMY: *moan* Uuuuu... My head hurts. I can't move... I want to study but I can't... What's going on?! Uuuuu. Is it because of you Mercurious?
[D. Zire appears.]
D. ZIRE: Hee hee. Having nightmares of passion?! Soon you will be a ball of mush and become my prey! Ke ke. The beginning of all love... Love latter attack!! No one can free themselves from the scent of first love! Go on! Become a slave to love!
[A bunch of letters fly at Amy. One covers her face. Amy's face turns red as she tries to pull the letter off.]
AMY: No!! Who is this?? It itches! This has to be a love letter! It won't come off my face!
[Information starts to flow from her head.]
AMY: Ahhh! I feel it! All the formulas, vocab that I memorized!! They're leaking out of my head!
[Amy rips the letter from her face.]
AMY: Who are you? My head's a daze... I can't really see!
D. ZIRE: I am the spirit named D. Zire! ke-ke ke-ke
AMY: Could it be...? You must be Mercurious!! Trying to reduce me to this?! It's you Mercurious, isn't it?
D. ZIRE: Ack! Listen up already! I'm D. Zire!
[Amy's not listening.]
AMY: You wimp, Mercurious!! I'm ready to fight now! I won't lose!

D. ZIRE: Uh... I'm D. Zire... Hello?
SAILOR MERCURY: I knew you were my enemy..... To have deluded me so thoroughly!! I'm glad I met you! Rival = Enemy! It's Amy's formula! I've proven it! I will always defeat the enemy!!
D. ZIRE: Wait!!
[D. Zire is destroyed.]
SAILOR MERCURY: Ahh!! Much better! I could hardly see Mercurious' face but... I'm sure he was quite charming. After all, he was my rival...
[Sailor Mercury faints. Bunny runs into the room.]
BUNNY: Amy!!
[Bunny, Mina, Raye, and Lita are sitting in the Crown Fruits Parlor.]
MINA: Rival = Enemy, huh? I don't want to be killed by Amy. My grades can stay where they are...
BUNNY: Yup. And we shouldn't tell her that we saw Mercurious.
AMY: What?? You saw him?! What was he like?
MINA: Kind of like him!
[Mina holds up a poster of a cute boy.]
BUNNY: Uh huh! Just like him!
AMY: I knew it! Einstein when he was young!
MINA: Huh?
AMY: Well he was my rival!
MINA: (thinking) She has high standards.
[A box labeled 'The True Color of Mercurious' shows a boy with wild hair and square glasses.]
MERCURIOUS: The origin of my pen name? Well, I've always been curious...
BUNNY: (thinking) I'm definitely not telling her about his geekiness.
[A few days later...]
AMY: *cries* Ahhh! Why?!
[She rips apart the paper she was holding which read:

#1 500 points: Mercury]
AMY: I thought I beat Mercurious already! This can't be!!
